DECEPTION PASS: Named after one of Seattle Pipe Club blender Joe Lankford's favorite places to retreat-and-reflect, Deception Pass is described as a North-West style Va/Per, combining a main body of Black and English style Virginias with condiment doses of Acadian perique, Black Cavendish and rare Turkish Orientals.

GALLOPING GERTIE: Seattle Pipe Club's Galloping Gertie take its name from the 1940 Tacoma Narrows Bridge that spanned the Tacoma Narrows Straight in Puget Sound and collapsed just four months after it opened due to aeroelastic flutter caused by high-speed winds. Seattle Pipe Club's tribute to the ill-fated bridge is a crumble cake of red and black, stoved Virginias, St. James Perique, unsweetened Black Cavendish, and a touch of Turkish Orientals. It provides a somewhat complex, yet savory flavor profile and is a remarkably unique Va/Per.

MISSISSIPPI RIVER: Mississippi River ~ actually appeared to Master Blender Joe Lankford in a dream. Awakened from a sound sleep he grabbed a pencil and scribbled a recipe before the memory faded. The next morning he used those notes to create a Virginia blend like no other. Mississippi River was born. The rest is history in a tin. Enjoy the rich Virginias pressed in cakes with Oriental leaf, a pinch of Latakia and perique. Exceedingly popular with good reason. It's Smooth, creamy, rich, lightly smoky and appropriately sweet, with hints of dried fruits and a touch of dark chocolate.

POTLATCH: Named after the traditional Northwest Indian Celebration of Plenty. Sumptuous feasts and ritual ceremonies lasted weeks. Gifts were shared with many old and new friends. Potlatch is just such a gift of our pipe tobacco. Enjoy this lavish mixture of seven rare ingredients: black cavendish marries with luxury burley, Cyprian latakia, bright Virginias, Turkish, Orientals and Acadian perique.

RAINIER LEVANT: Joe Lankford has fond memories of some of the blends that the legendary tobaccos from Drucquer & Sons. One particular favorite of his was Levant Mixture, and he missed it so much that he decided to develop his own tribute to it - introducing Seattle Pipe Club Rainier Levant. This is a rich and fragrant Balkan-style blend made of zesty red Virginia, earthy/spicy Turkish Orientals and plenty of Cyprian latakia.

SEATTLE EVENING: Joe Lankford created Seattle Evening as a special treat for the 2008 Seattle Pipe Club annual dinner. The end result was nothing, as in, not a scrap of the original batch was left by the end of the night. An English/Oriental mix of latakia, Turkish Orientals and Rred Virginias with an exotic twist, courtesy of an unnamed secret ingredient, this Seattle Pipe Club blend promises something rich, smokey, spicy, and luxurious.

WILD MAN: This is a medium bodied blend of rich and smoky Cyprian Latakia, complex and exotic Orientals, and select, sweet Virginias, pressed into an easy-to-prepare crumble cake. The aroma will remind you of incense, but the flavor is smooth, smoky, and intriguingly unique.
